About

Our Story
GeoCritical Consulting is a Canada-based boutique specializing in critical minerals intelligence and visualization. Based in London, Ontario, we help exploration firms, regional agencies, investors, and associations navigate the complex intersection of geoscience, policy, and supply-chain data. Our goal is simple: to give smaller organizations the clarity and strategic insight usually reserved for big-consultancy budgets.

We combine data analysis with visual storytelling to make information decision-ready. From resource maps and ESG summaries to investor briefs and strategic dashboards, our work turns complexity into clarity—showing where opportunity, risk, and strategy align across Canada’s critical minerals landscape. Every project is grounded in independence, regional expertise, and an evidence-based approach that builds trust across technical and policy audiences alike.

At GeoCritical, we believe clarity is a strategic advantage. By translating data into visuals, insight, and credible narratives, we help clients communicate effectively, compete confidently, and align with Canada’s critical minerals strategy. The result is insight that doesn’t just inform decisions—it drives them.
Our Team
Floyd Mautle
Floyd Mautle is a PhD researcher in Geology at the University of Western Ontario whose work spans micro-scale impact textures, geochemical interpretation, and field-based analysis. His research background—combining advanced imaging, data synthesis, and clear visual communication—shapes how GeoCritical Consulting helps clients move from complexity to clarity.

Floyd founded GeoCritical to serve exploration, investment, and policy teams who need trustworthy, concise insightwithout wading through hundreds of pages of reports. He believes decisions about critical minerals deserve both evidence that holds up in the lab and language that lands in the boardroom.
With experience that bridges lab precision, field context, and teaching clarity, Floyd brings a rare blend of technical depth and communication skill to every project. His analytical discipline and visual approach directly address his clients’ challenges—data overload, weak narratives, and uncertain context—turning them into actionable, decision-ready intelligence.

Education: PhD (in progress), MSc Applied Geology (Magna Cum Laude, University of the Western Cape), BSc Hons Geology, and BSc Geochemistry (University of the Free State).
